I’ll keep this post as short as possible. It’s about today’s autumn budget 2017 you see.
Today Philip Hammond delivered his budget speech; his second budget since becoming chancellor.
I won’t bore you with the details and I won’t direct you to any details either. I’ll assume you already know or simply do not care. Anyway, with that in mind, I’ll continue with the post…
During today’s budget I created a pencil and gouache drawing to celebrate the occasion.
Or should I say mock?
The drawing depicts Philip Hammond posing with the iconic red briefcase, or budget box, which contains the chancellor’s budget speech. On the briefcase reads the following graffiti:
“We You Wont, Might, Could Will Be Fucked”
By the way, in case you were wondering, the artwork does not intend to point me towards any political allegiance. Not intentionally anyway.
An no, that is not a cop out.
The drawing is merely a general comment on how I see the state of British politics from various news sources.
I have titled the artwork A Budget For Everyone and is available to own now in my online shop here.
